A mirror does not lie. A mirror reflects light, although that light can be distorted, it is an accurate duplication of what is in front of it.

A mirror is also a transformer-it transforms three dimensional images into two dimensional images. A mirrored reflection is as lifeless as the image it is reflecting. A mirror cannot reflect life, only the expression of life-so what it is reflecting when you look into the mirror is a lifeless form.

You cannot see life only its expression. You are in fact a "light being," you are light itself. All physical matter is the densest form of light. All matter is light. And the life force that animates the light form is not of the body and it is why it can not be seen. Your emotions, feelings, and personality are not your body. They are what animate your body-your body is that which expresses life. It is life experiencing the illusion of
physical life.

When you look into the mirror, it is not you whom you are looking at-it is an expression of who you believe yourself to be. It is an idea of a unique life-form expressed as your ego. The image in the mirror is just as much alive as you are or are not. When you speak to yourself you see the image speaking and you hear the sound of your voice, but it is neither one of you who is speaking. You cannot see life only its expression. The mirrored image is an illusion caught in the frame of the mirror. It does not reflect emotion or feelings because you do not have them, you simply express them. The expression comes from somewhere else, somewhere outside of your body.

The body is a light vehicle used by your ego/soul to experience being alive-the physical body is life animated. When you move in front of the mirror, is there only one moving or are there two-a two dimensional object and a three dimensional object? Is it not the same life force animating one as it does the other. Everything is life-there is nothing else. So the image in the mirror is just as real as its reflection. But it is an image existing in a different realm of two dimensions. Mirrors are portals to a different world of experience just as lifeless as the one you are experiencing now. Is it your thoughts giving life to your reflection-is it the reflection giving life to you, or are both of you experiencing each other through a fourth dimension-the one you came from before you began experiencing physical life?

From the position of the silent observer-a place that is outside our bodies we can follow our movements-where we have come from and where we are going. We can experience ourselves experiencing ourselves in this illusion we call life. Many of us do this subconsciously and it is how we can make decisions which lead us to a desired experience. Yet with practice we can do this on a conscious level as well. We can experience being all three aspects of mind, soul, and body simultaneously. It is your imagination allowing you to experience who you believe yourself to be now. You are imaging your whole life and all its experiences and everything around you. You imagination is limitless. It is you who imagines limits and sets its boundaries in your physical life. You can imagine anything, yet you can only experience that imagination within the boundaries you have set for yourself.

You expand your world when you recognize what you are looking at as a reflection of yourself. The keyboard and monitor in front of me is an extension of myself, they are just as much alive as I am. They are me-they are reflections of my thoughts as these words are. We are one-expressing life which gives us all, form-but uniquely mine.

You are the reader-I am the writer, and it is the creator or mind experiencing all of it simultaneously. We are all one coming together to experience a different aspect of ourselves. All three aspects are in complete agreement for this circumstance to be experienced. A mirror would show the illusion, the images, but not the experience. We cannot experience-we can simply express it.

A mirror does not lie, it reflects light-that is its only purpose. You are a "light being" animating life. You are a mirror in your own right reflecting life in all its aspects. All of physical life is a reflection of a thought that has come before it-and experience cannot be found anywhere in the body or any mirror.

What to Buy:

There are three major items to keep by your side while working. First, a good-quality D-Ring picture hanger. Make sure you get a good quality product, one that will not bend easily. Second, is the hanging wire; make sure that you specifically purchase mirror wire, not the picture wire, as the wire tends to be more durable compared to the picture wire. Finally, get some molly-bolts or hollow wall anchors. They are available in a wide range of sizes. Place the D-ring at the back of the mirror frame far to one side and mark the holes with a pencil, then drill pilot holes where you made pencil marks. Secure the ring with screws. Repeat this step for the second D-ring, placing it parallel to the first D-ring on the other side. Now you need to string the mirror wire through each D-ring and secure it. The final step is to have somebody assist you in positioning your wall mirror.

Tips:

Hanging a mirror on the first attempt is not as easy as it looks. To ensure the placement, have your partner hold it against the wall where you want it to be, step back and see what you think. Installing Your Vanity Mirror

One of the easiest ways to breathe new life into your bathroom is to replace your tired, old mirror with a brand new mirror complete with decorative frosting or a frame. Most bathroom mirrors that you buy new from a home improvement or furniture store will have hanging equipment and instructions. To be sure, check with the sales person before you buy your mirror. Finding your new mirror at a garage sale or flea market can be an exciting treasure hunt, but the mirror will not usually come with installation instructions or equipment. You can purchase a kit with hanging clips for a frameless mirror or a picture hanging kit for a framed mirror at any hardware store.

Hanging a Vanity Mirror with a Frame

• When you purchase your picture hanging kit, make sure that it can hold at least 100 pounds.

• Attach picture wire to the frame of your mirror. Your kit will come either with eye or regular screws around which you loop and knot the wire. Make sure it's secure and will support the weight of your mirror before you hang it.

• With a very heavy mirror or a thin wall, you'll need molly screws to help hang your mirror. Using multiple picture hooks can help to distribute weight as well.

• Mark the top two edges and the top center of your vanity mirror on the wall. Pull the picture wire as far up the mirror as you can and measure from the top of the vanity mirror to the high point on the wire. Measure down from your center mark on the wall to that point and make a mark for your hook. When using two or more hooks, you'll have to pull the wire up in two points in between the vanity mirror's top center and top edges at the same time and mark the wall accordingly.

• Mount your picture hooks and hang your mirror. It might take a couple tries to level your new bathroom mirror.

Hanging a Vanity Mirror without a Frame

• Measure your mirror. Find where the center of your vanity mirror and top and bottom edges would be on the wall. About six inches in from each edge is typically where you'll be attaching your clips for a square mirror. For oval or circular mirrors, the rule stays the same, but it's six inches in, following the outside edge of the circle, to support the mirror.

• Attach the bottom two clips first if they screw in. You can install spring-loaded clips all at once, if you have those instead. Put foam bumpers to protect your vanity mirror at least six inches inside the edge of the mirror.

Creating One Way Mirror Glass With Reflective Window Film

One way vision glass can be obtained by installing a high reflective window film. Reflective window tint is generally made from two sheets of polyester, which has been through a process that deposits a layer of very small particles of metal, usually, aluminum, silver or bronze. This creates a very thin metalized layer in between the polyester sheets, a clear adhesive and thin polyester backing liner is attached and on the other side a scratch resistant coating.

When this reflective window film is applied to glass it creates a one way mirror under the correct conditions. The most common reflective window film is a reflective silver window film, the darkest usually referred to as silver 20. This silver film gives a silver mirrored appearance; other colours can be combined such as grey, gold and bronze.

How does reflective film work?

When installed to glazing the window tint will reflect images. If you have one room which is dark and another that is very bright the film will allow you to see into the brighter room but from the other side you will just get a reflection of the room you are in. You will not be able to see into the darker room. This works as the film will reflect images, in the dark room there isn't much light to reflect back and as so the image it is reflecting is very dull, however in the other room it is very bright and so the images reflected are also very bright and defined, this makes it so that when in the darker room you can see the image of the other room.

Your eyes don't realize that you are looking at a reflection; it looks as if you are looking straight into the other room. Because of the way the film works it means the window tint has limitations, it is recommended to have at least a 4:1 light ratio to get a true one way mirror effect. When installing the reflective window film on external glazing the natural sun light will always be brighter than most artificial light stopping people from seeing into the property but allowing vision out, however at night time when the lights are on inside the effect will be reversed.

There isn't any way around this unfortunately, if you want to have privacy day and night you will need to alter the lighting conditions to get at least a 4:1 light ratio day and night or have a look at a privacy window film which will stop people seeing in and out.

Dr. Maxwell Maltz, Plastic Surgeon Performs Facelifts without Scalpel

It would be remiss of me not to give credit to the man responsible for bringing this awareness of self image psychology to light. Dr. Maxwell Maltz was a plastic surgeon in the 1960's. At 61 years old, he wrote his first book called Psycho Cybernetics, which went on to become a self improvement phenomenon, selling over 30 million copies since then. Today you can't pick up a self improvement book or program that doesn't draw upon his ground breaking discoveries teaching how to change a negative self image. Maltz said, "the self image is changed, for better or worse, not be intellect alone, nor by intellectual knowledge, but by "experiencing."

At the core, his ideas focus on visualizing your goals. It's truly the secret behind "The Secret." Here's the origin of how this all came about. Before he wrote Psycho Cybernetics, Dr. Maltz noticed that many times after a cosmetic procedure was performed successfully, his patients would continue to obsess about their imperfections that they had agreed was already well corrected.

After examining many cases he noticed a parallel. Each of those patients who felt that cosmetic surgery did nothing for them, had very low self esteem. He made a deal with one of his clients named Jack, who was obsessing about his crooked nose. Dr. Maltz said that he would not consent to operating on Jack again until Jack took an interim step. After that time, if Jack was not satisfied, Dr. Maltz would do the surgery.

At the end of the 21 days, Jack was so happy with his nose that he didn't even want the surgery.

So Many Sighs Over My Big Fat Thighs

In my experience, before I made peace with food, I couldn't stop thinking and obsessing about the size of my thighs. I swore that I must have had the biggest thighs in the world. No amount of weight loss or exercise was enough to alter my distorted perception of my body. When I finally decided to stop dieting, I lost all control around food and gained 35 pounds. One day standing, looking at my fat self in the mirror,I had an epiphany and realized that I had to either accept me and my thighs the way they were, or continue living a crazy life hoping and praying that dieting and exercising would change them. I knew that I could never again continue to live under the tyranny of dieting, so the alternative was to learn to love myself now. So, we're happy we've chosen the perfect car seat for our child. It's exactly right for the age, size and weight of our precious cargo and they are comfortable and secure.

Most safety advisory bodies and common sense tells us that they need to be secured in the rear seats. Also until 1 year old they should also be in a rear facing child seat. All great advice that should be followed to ensure our children are transported safely.

One major problem though is the isolation and inability to communicate or keep an eye on our children and not be dangerously distracted from driving.

If our child is old enough to be safely put in a forward facing seat at least they can talk to the back of our heads. If we put them on the opposite side of the rear seat we can catch a glimpse of them and make some eye contact through the rear-view mirror.

If they are babies and in a rear facing seat, we can only use verbal communication to try to pacify or comfort them. All very frustrating and dangerously distracting. So much so that I started to look at what solutions might be available.

Thank goodness for the internet! I discovered that baby car mirrors are available from most reputable baby accessory manufacturers. They just don't seem to promote them. I have know idea why because it has revolutionised travelling with my children in the car.

For rear facing car seats, mirrors are available that have universal fittings that attach the mirror to headrests, armrests and anything that you can fit velcro straps around. They are specifically design for this purpose and have plastic non-shatter mirrors. The fixings are secure so the unit doesn't become dangerous in the event of a collision.

My wife and I received these as well as the short ones as a wedding gift, they seemed they were good quality. Had for about 1 year, had about 6 of them break in the same place, where the thick bottom connects to the thinner sides of the glass. Bottoms seemed to just pop off. Be careful you don't get cut when they do, I had a whole glass of milk on my lap after the bottom popped off and glass shards everywhere on one instance. Were only hand washed.

Best Practices in Negotiation - Your Worst Enemy is in the Mirror!

I accompanied a relative to a car dealership yesterday after having briefed her thoroughly on our purchasing strategy.

Correction: It was more of a non-purchasing strategy, because one of the fundamental planks of our negotiation platform was this agreement:

"No matter what, you are NOT going to drive out of the lot with a car; not today, right?"

The idea of not buying during the first visit involves psychology on both sides of the bargaining table:

(1) It is a prophylaxis against our tendency to get too excited and to buy on the spot something other than the best vehicle at less than favorable terms; and

(2) It proves to the dealer that we're serious about getting the best possible deal, and we have the willpower and smarts to walk away and to hit the reset button. This means he is going to compete for the business, if he wants to get it.

"No problem," my comrade-in-arms concurred. This visit is exploratory, preliminary, and for "show."

Then all of that got thrown out the window.

She was steered to a car that she test-drove and which seemed suitable. It was an upgrade from her last ride that was totaled in a crash precipitated by a red-light runner.

The salesperson started high, saying the car was worth $18,500 but she'd give it away at $16,000, making only a $200 profit. To her credit, my colleague said she'd think it over, but it was clear to the seller that buying mania had started taking over.

This is the voice inside that says: "I have found EXACTLY what I want, and I want it now, and I MUST have it now, and she says it's a really good deal, and nothing is going to stop me!"

Slow down...Please!

(1) There are millions of unsold cars in the United States right now. It only stands to reason that hundreds if not many thousands of them would be just as "perfect."

(2) You want it now, because it is a change, a reward, it represents an end to this very uncomfortable process of acquiring a new set of wheels.

(3) Nothing says you MUST have it, except you. Somehow, you have made it to this moment in your life without this transporter, and you can make it another few days or a week, which is what it will take to get a better deal.

(4) Of course the dealer is going to say it is a good deal! They are masters at putting numbers in front of people, while seeming to dramatically discount them.

(5) The fear of missing out is what is propelling you, and if you can't put the brakes on your own impulsiveness, you are literally out of control. You'll sign anything on any terms to get what you have now rationalized you deserve.

I intervened.

Like an expert car appraiser (I have been trained in the car leasing business) I checked out the windshield of the car. There were "line of vision" pits, indicating the windshield should be replaced. The dealer cost is $150-$200.

The paint was pitted on the leading edge of the hood, but instead of repainting the entire hood, the dealer "touched-up" the surface, leaving perceptible bumps and dots. The dealer cost is $200-$300 to repaint a metallic finish.

And I had just begun. The seller said she'd have to talk to her manager, and he skated over in a flash, just as quickly hitting the wall. No, he wouldn't replace or credit the value of the windshield.

Anyway, this was a great deal!

Wrong, again. It was a full-pop retail deal, I told him, as a "special sales" red card revealed, that was tucked into the front seat.

If your heart is racing and you're in love, you won't stop to see these demerits. In fact, your eyes will glaze over and you'll be stuck in la-la land.

Always, take a break from the action when you're buying a car. Your battle isn't you against them.

It's you against that ravenous, impulsive consumer that is in the mirror, if you dare to look.

10 Ways to Improve Your Dancing

Dancing is an impressive skill when you do it right and with style. Here's how anyone can improve their dancing ability.

1. Start taking dance classes or dance lessons
Dance classes would be the number one way I would recommend of improving your dancing. Your first dance classes will be quite difficult which will reveal to you how much room there is for improvement.

2. Use a mirror
If you don't use a mirror to improve your dancing, now's the time to start! Only by using a mirror can you make adjustments to your dancing in real-time.

3. Use a video camera
Use a mirror to make adjustments in real time as you dance. Use a video camera to watch and evaluate your dancing. There are even certain things you won't notice while looking at the mirror, but will be plainly obvious when watching back on film.

The video camera isn't perfect, but it doesn't lie and can be a good way to iron out mistakes fast. After all when something looks wrong, you'll want to be the first one to correct it!

4. Practise outside of dance class
Going to dance classes is a great way of practising and improving your dance. However you need to practise outside of the dance class as well to go over new material you learn and perfect. The class is where you learn, home is where the real training ground is though.

5. Practise with music
It's fine to practise without music when you are going over things. However it's important to practise with music as well. A dancer becomes a great dancer when what they are dancing starts to connect with the music on a deeper level.

6. Learn to freestyle at home
Being able to freestyle as well as do dance routines is a great skill. However you may need to begin by just putting on some music and trying out some dance moves. The more you do this, the more comfortable you will become dancing without any pre-rehearsed moves.

7. Dance outside of the bedroom
Learning to dance in other environments except for home or the dance studio will make you a more confident dancer. A big part of dancing is the confidence you put behind the moves.

8. Watch videos of other dancers
Take inspiration and learn about different styles, watch how different people do different moves and develop a better understanding of dance.

9. Learn to dance more than 1 style
Expand your thinking beyond the style you are comfortable doing, and develop a better understanding of dance in general.

10. Stop reading this and start practising.

We all wear masks of some kind.

Some are as simple as wearing a smile when on the inside we're feeling alone or blue. Some are more complicated. We purposely hide our true selves. Either to deceive or because we really don't know who we are on a basic level and are afraid to share our "real" self with others for fear of rejection or because it's too scary to delve that deeply into ourselves. Many times it's hard to tell if someone is being genuine or putting forth a false front and simply saying what we want to hear.

Sometimes our masks hide inner yearnings. When we know what we "should" do, what is expected of us, what our responsibilities are, what family demands of us..that is all we dare to do. We tow the company line so to speak. We say the right things, do the right things in day to day life even if doing so makes us unhappy. We try to convince ourselves that we can be happy with settling for less than we want, even if deep inside we know there is a better choice...something that will make us happy for the rest of our lives.

We pretend. We keep those yearnings buried inside, and only pull them out in the middle of the night or when they sneak up on us unexpectedly during afternoon daydreams. Still, we say we're fine...that we're doing what we "want", what we should do...what we "feel" we need to do, even if deep inside we know we're lying and will never admit it out loud. We lie, not only to ourselves, but in cheating those around us that think we are really what they want us to be. We "try" to keep those that we found a new connection with at arms length, even though that rarely works if we're honest about how rare and special it is to find someone that we really bond with. Still we try and hope the other person will also ignore or deny that connection. We hope they will fade away or find someone else, even though we know if they do..it will make us sad.

Still, those masks fool everyone, if we're determined enough to convince ourselves and everyone around us that we're content or happy. Will it do damage to our souls? Of course it will...but yet, we take that as an acceptable trade-off for not hurting anyone and keeping everyone around us happy or secure...often at the expense of our inner self. It's a risk or burden we take on for others and we can even convince ourselves we're happy...not all the time, but some of the time. Never mind that in the process it might hurt someone else new in our lives. We choose family and responsibility over new choices and resign or convince ourselves that it's really what we want or have to do. We settle for half measures rather than taking a chance or changing our life. We take the safe route and tell ourselves over and over again that it's what we want, hoping we will start to believe it.

Those masks are becoming more and more common. Over the last week or two, I've spoken with some fellow teachers that are also good friends at work. Many have been married for over 20 years...some with a first marriage, others in their 2nd marriage that are long term. The talk has been honest and matter of fact, in depth...almost emotionless other than the passion of frustration or some hurt, confusion...and at times just resignation.

Do they talk to their partner or spouse this way? No, most don't, for various reasons. Either the busy day to day life drags time on...or the partner isn't receptive to any type of real honesty at this point in a relationship they themselves are "comfortable" with and assume their spouse should be as well. Some don't because they purely just don't care anymore as long as they are left alone and can live a solitary life within the cushion of being under the guise of a "couple". Some are truly actively trying to rekindle that "spark" of marriage, but know that even though their partners are saying the right words and what they want to hear...it's not really what they are feeling underneath what is being said on the surface. They will continue to pretend...put on their masks and go on presenting a "happy" front to the world and in the middle of the night let the truth creep in that they keep under control, under wraps.

All of that said, I know that some couples are truly happy and content with each other. They have a bond, that rare connection that has never wavered from when they first met...whether when they were young or a bit more mature. That same bond that some find later in life and can't or won't act on it. I now know that true love does exist. I know that there are some people that can be together almost without effort, the fit is so good. I never used to believe in it. I thought it was a theory that sounded nice, but in reality was something that wasn't possible...not really. That's not to say these relationships are boring or without extreme passion, they are only enhanced by so many areas of compatibility that the minor problems and differences only add spice to the entire package. Such a connection also doesn't ensure that the two people so matched will ever be together. Nothing is guaranteed.

When you meet someone new, look beyond their surface. If you're in a long term relationship or marriage, you have to do the same thing. To become complacent or to try and convince yourself you're happy only cheats yourself and everyone around you if deep down you know differently and know you are missing someone or something vital to your existence. You're still cheating your partner and your family, even if you never leave them. You lose so much of yourself.

It's never easy to be brutally honest with yourself. Ultimately you have to live with yourself and if you're going to give up something or someone that could complete you...bypass a second chance that might be hard to make happen, but will nonetheless give true depth and happiness to your life...then you also need to realize that the ones in your life WILL know it. They may never say a word, but they will know that part of you is missing or elsewhere...a part of your heart, thoughts or soul belongs in another place, even if you never waver or leave. They will know.

As for the masks many wear online...some wear them to see what they can "get" from others that they'd never have the courage to even suggest in real life. They act sexy, slutty (male and female) or pretend to be a sex machine super stud. They have no intention of really getting to know anyone, much less letting anyone really know them or get close to their real life. They talk a good game. They can be fearless behind their computer screens or cleverly worded silver-tongued emails. Look beyond this, listen to your heart...not your loneliness or your desperation. Use your common sense. If something doesn't "feel" right, trust that intuition.

I've seen too many friends lately hurting or that have been deceived. I'm frankly tired of seeing so much hurt, so much pain in good people. It's heart wrenching when I see players at work. Some don't intend to be players when they first meet someone, but nevertheless, it's what the end result is. If you can't handle acting like a mature adult and conducting an adult relationship...one with all it's ADULT ups and downs and respect for the other person...then don't the hell start anything or be playing on here. Don't think that you can take the easy out or just disappear from someones life that you worked your way into. If you can just disregard their feelings, then don't tell them you love them or lead them on...it wasn't or isn't love. The Internet allows us to feel as if we get closer, faster. We can "feel" as if we know a person better than we do at times...when in reality, most only know what the other person allows you to know.

There are the rare times though, when you do find a genuine connection. You learn a person inside out. You both open up honestly and completely...you let another person in, even to the areas of your life or personality that aren't as easy to love...yet, the other person accepts and loves you completely anyway. There's no guarantee even then that everything will work out to be happily ever after...but it does at times and you can't know if you don't try. If you don't try, there will always be a "what if" rolling through your thoughts.

So, learn to look beyond the mask. Take a long time to get to know someone, the real someone. If there is something there of value, of worth...it will not fade with time, but only grow deeper, there is no rush. Take care and watch your heart...don't give it easily, but at the same time, don't close it to possibilities because of past hurts.

IF someone is special to you...IF what you have is rare and something that won't be found again easily if at all, don't ever dismiss it or bury it. Don't take it for granted. Be brave and courageous. Be fair to yourself and your partner. Sometimes it's better and more fair to everyone to move on to something that is more suited to the adult you and will make you happy. Really consider possibilities that may never come again and realize what part of yourself would be lost to throw it away or try to deny it. After any pain to leave an old life behind, good things will happen ultimately to everyone that can now move on with their lives to one more suited to them.

Always remember, you ARE a person worthy of respect, love and admiration. Never settle for anything less or hurry through the process of building a relationship. The journey should be as special as the final destination...IF it's meant to be. Don't give up easily on your dreams...believe in what your heart tells you. Cherish what you learn along the way and hold on tightly to those that are worthy of your love. Know when to give up and when to continue to fight for what is special and rare. You will know the difference. Be true to yourself. Let your light shine always. Don't ever let anyone else extinguish it.

Four Tips to Increase PH Levels in a Reef Aquarium Quickly and Easily

Maintaining good PH in a reef aquarium is one of the more common challenges. A low PH can negatively affect coral growth and lead to problem algae. There are however a few easy ways to make sure your PH stays at or above 8.0

Good Water Circulation

Maintaining good water movement in your reef tank is critical to keeping your PH high in your reef aquarium. A tank circulation level of 15 to 20 times the tank volume is a great starting point. This means that if you have a 55 gallon tank you want to have a circulation amount of 825 1100 GPH.

You also want to make sure that this flow causes surface agitation. Increased surface agitation will transfer the carbon dioxide out of the water and bring fresh oxygen into the tank.

Proper Stocking Levels

Low PH in a reef aquarium can also be a sign of ow oxygen levels. If increase the surface agitation and water flow levels fail to help you may have to look at your tanks bio load. Fish are one of the biggest users of oxygen in your tank and having to many will have negative effects.

The standard rules of one inch of fish per gallon for stocking freshwater tanks do not apply to marine aquariums for a variety of reasons, this is especially true for reef aquariums. As a good rule of thumb keep your tanks fish load to one fish for every ten gallons of tank water.

The Right Substrate

One easy way to increase your reef tanks PH and hold it steady is to use aragonite sand or gravel in your tank. Aragonite will dissolve at lower PH levels and during this dissolving process it will release minerals and elements back into the tank that will in turn raise the PH. This is why it is critical you only use gravel or sand that is meant for reef tanks and not freshwater based material.

Chemical Additives

If for whatever reason you just cannot raise PH in a reef tank or hold it steady you may have to turn to chemical additives designed to help you out. There are many two part additives on the market that will raise calcium and alkalinity and at the same time increase your tanks PH levels.

A cheap alternative is kalkwasser set up to drip into your tank every few seconds. While it is a pain to mix up and apply it will do a great job at maintaining calcium, alkalinity and PH. But like any chemical you add to your tan start slow and work your way up, and always test the results!

Annuals are a great addition to any garden. There are many varieties to choose from and many are easy to grow. Annuals flower all summer long, many until frost. Here are five of the most popular, long blooming annuals.

1. Geraniums. Technically a Pelargonium, geraniums are hugely popular in gardens. They are very easy to grow, so are great for beginning and expert gardeners alike. In warmer climates, geraniums are perennials, but in much of the country, they are treated as annuals. They bloom from spring to frost. There are three types of geraniums: zonal, ivy and scented. The zonal geraniums are the most familiar. They have flower clusters which rise above soft, velvety leaves. The flowers come in colors of red, white, pink, violet and rose. This variety will generally grow twelve to eighteen inches tall. Ivy geraniums have branches that stretch out and droop, making them perfect for containers. The foliage is glossy and smooth. The ivy variety flowers come in pink, lavender, red and white. The scented geraniums are more grown for the fragrance than the flowers. Gently crush the foliage in your hands to release the scent. The fragrance can range from rose, to chocolate, to mint! These geraniums are best planted in containers where you can reach out and rub the foliage.

2. Petunias. Petunias come in such a wide variety of colors and types that it can be difficult to decide which one to pick! Petunias bloom from summer until frost and come in colors ranging from red, white, yellow, purple, pin and multi colored. The two main classes of petunias are multifloras and grandifloras. Multifloras are compact with smaller flowers. The flowers can be either single or double petaled. The grandifloras are the larger of the two classes, growing up to twenty four inches tall. This class is often used for hanging baskets or containers. The flowers can be single or double petaled. Remove the dead flower blooms in order to keep the petunias producing flowers all season.

3. Marigolds. Marigolds are the work horses of the garden. They are not fussy, very easy to grow right from seed and produce many flowers from spring to frost. The four common types of marigolds to use in your garden include: African, French, Triploid and Signet. African marigolds, which are also referred to as American marigolds are the tallest type. They grow up to 3 feet tall, with large double petaled blooms. Best used in the back of a border. Flower colors range from cream to orange with other yellow shades in the middle. French marigolds are smaller than the African. They grow six to twelve inches tall and have either single or double petaled blooms. Shades range from maroon, to orange to bright yellow and some bi-colored flowers. Triploid hybrids are a cross between the French and African varieties. The plants are a compact twelve inches with large three inch blooms. These are also a seedless variety, so will continue to bloom even without dead heading. Signets are the tiniest of the marigolds. They are bushy plants that grow up to twelve inches and produce masses of tiny colorful flowers.

4. Sunflowers. Sunflowers bloom in a wide variety of shapes, colors and sizes. Easily grown from seed, they are perfect to teach children about plants. From giant ten foot tall plants to compact garden varieties, there is sure to be a sunflower that will fit your garden. For the giant size, staking will probably be necessary to keep the flower from toppling over. Often times the flower head itself will grow to over twelve inches across! The garden varieties can have single large blooms on each stem, or be a more bushy plant with many smaller flower heads. If you want sunflowers for cutting, try growing the hybrids with a long single stem.

5. Snapdragons. Snapdragons are available in a wide variety of sizes and colors. They are difficult to grow from seed, so starting out with plants from your local nursery is the easiest way to add them to your garden. There are three typical sizes for snapdragons: dwarf, medium and tall. The dwarf size are twelve inches or shorter. They come in a wide range of colors, but due to their size, are not good for cutting. The intermediate size grows up to eighteen inches. This size is good for cutting flowers for bouquets and for using anywhere in the garden bed. The tall variety of snapdragons grow up to three feet tall. These will require staking to maintain straight stems. These are best to use for the back of the border, or for cutting.

Planting annuals can be a great activity for the whole family. Using any of these annuals can provide months of blooms for cutting, or just enjoying in the garden!

Candlewick glassware had its humble beginnings in Ohio in the mid-30s. The Imperial Glass Company opened its doors in 1904 in Bellaire, Ohio, under the direction of Edward Muhleman, a gentleman who had much experience in the glass industry. With Muhleman’s guidance, The Imperial Glass Company became one of the most preeminent glass manufacturers in the country. And while their glass was high quality it was also extremely affordable for the average family; this rare combination made Imperial glass soar in popularity.

In the early 1930s Candlewick glassware was developed by Imperial’s Chicago sales representative, Earl Newton. Newton made adaptations to the French Cannonball line of glassware after having seen it on a trip to New York and being taken with its distinctiveness and elegance. Newton used this design as starting ground to develop what he believed would be a unique and timeless glassware line. His resulting design reminded Newton of candlewicking – a style of needlework popular in Colonial times and thus the name was born.

The Imperial Glass Company jumped onboard and released its Candlewick line in the summer of 1936. Candlewick glassware proved itself to be one of Imperial’s best sellers, as customers lined up for these elegant pieces.

Perhaps you are too young to notice this, but have you ever had one of these days when you look at yourself in the mirror and ask: "Who is this person?" And you realize that the appearance is not one that you can take pride in. In fact, you don't really like what you see.

Then you take another look, scrutinizing the image, and ask again: "Who are you?" You try to see a similarity to that young person you once were but there is none. Then you try to find a similarity with your mother or father, looking for traces that tell you that you come from a set of genes and that yes, it is all right. You look like someone.

Perhaps you look at the mirror and see your mother. Or perhaps your father. Or your older brother. If you look closely, you see too many wrinkles. Sometimes you don't have to look too closely to see a stranger's body. This plump person is absolutely not you! You check your face and then you sagging body and realize that indeed you are looking at a stranger. And you come to a terrifying conclusion: life has passed you by and you didn't even notice.

Ich habe mir den Film ausgeliehen, weil ich den Trailer gesehen habe, war aber sehr skeptisch und habe mich schon damit abgefunden wieder einmal einen vor sich hinlaufenden Thiller nebenbei zu schaun.
Doch als ich den Film einlegt, war ich gleich posetiv überrascht! Der Film geht schnell los und das nimmt auch während der restichen Spielzeit nicht ab. Der Film ist von Grundauf genial! Es geht los mit Spannung und diese baut sich während der Storry immer weiter auf.
Ein guter Psycho-Thriller dem es an nichts fehlt.
Ich liebe diesen Film!
MIRRORS ist ein recht gut gemachter Horrorfilm - nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Fans entsprechender Filme sollten also auf ihre Kosten kommen, und wenn MIRRORS ohne Frage das Rad nicht neu erfindet so ist der Film auf jeden Fall gut genug, um schlichtweg unterhaltsam zu sein.

Die Prämisse, dass Spiegel Durchgänge zu einer anderen Welt sind, ist dabei sicherlich nicht neu - und auch zahlreiche andere Plot-Elemente von MIRRORS sind nicht sonderlich originell. Manches wirkt fast wie aus einem Katalog für Horrorfilme zusammengebastelt... aber andererseits: der Film ist dennoch wesentlich besser, als er von der Kritik aufgenommen wurde.
